BROTHERHOOD CRUSADE AWARDED $10,000 NATIONAL ENDOWMENT OF THE ARTS GRANT FOR 13TH ANNUAL NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERT FEATURING THE LOS ANGELES CHAMBER ORCHESTRA ON SATURDAY, APRIL 12, 2008

(Los Angeles) - With a special $10,000 grant from the National Endowment of the Arts, NEA, the Brotherhood Crusade and the African American Unity Center (“AAUC”) will once again host their 13th Annual Neighborhood Concert presenting the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (“LACO”). This spectacular event will be held at the Nate Holden Performing Arts Center, 4718 W. Washington Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90016 on Saturday, April 12, 2008.

Since its inception, the cornerstone of AAUC’s work is helping low-income and disadvantaged families transition from welfare dependence to empowered self-sufficiency through the provision of youth prevention programs, educational services, life skills training, employment readiness, post-employment services, health education, food and clothing. To date, AAUC has served more the 9,000 community residents. All proceeds from the concert will support on-going programs and future endeavors of AAUC.

The Brotherhood Crusade is a 501©(3) nonprofit institution founded in 1968 to provide necessary resources, program services and a voice of advocacy to traditionally underserved communities. Our mission is to remove and/or help individuals overcome the barriers that deter their pursuit of success and facilitate opportunities for a better quality of life, by promoting health and wellness, enhancing educational opportunities, cultivating economic growth and building community agencies and institutions.
